A counter that does not stop when the internet does.
Every bill is written to a local database on the counter machine first — always. The internet going down does not slow the queue, and a slow government API never blocks a sale. Built for Pakistani general retail and pharmacies, with FBR sales tax ready to switch on.
Fast at the counter. Honest in the back office.
Keyboard-first billing for the people at the till, and reporting that tells the owner the truth.
Billing built for speed
Barcode scanning with a keyboard-first flow, hold and recall, split payments across cash, card, wallet, bank, cheque and credit, line and bill discounts with supervisor approval, weighing-scale barcodes, customer credit — khata — loyalty points, returns, voids, receipt reprint and a cash-drawer kick.
Pharmacy, properly
Batch and expiry tracking with FEFO allocation, so the first-expiring stock sells first without anybody having to think about it. Generic and salt search, prescription-required warnings, drug schedule, rack location, and near-expiry and expired-stock control.
The whole back office
Products with Excel import and export, bulk price changes and barcode labels. Inventory with movements, adjustments, branch transfers and valuation. Purchases and supplier returns. Customers and suppliers with full ledgers. Expenses. Shift open and close with X and Z reports.
Promotions that actually run
Percentage and fixed discounts, buy-X-get-Y, combos, bundles and coupons, plus a loyalty scheme — applied at the counter without the cashier doing arithmetic in their head.
Reports an owner reads
Sales summary, item-wise, category-wise and cashier-wise, profit and loss, the tax and FBR register, expenses, receivables and payables, and the day book — all exportable to Excel.
FBR sales tax, ready
Pakistan sales tax with tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive pricing, the 3% further tax for buyers without an STRN, and FBR POS invoice transmission. Invoices are queued and never posted inline, because a slow or unavailable government API must never hold up the counter. Posted invoice numbers and QR codes print on the receipt.
Safe by construction
Automatic backups on a timer and on exit, taken safely while a sale is being written, with a restore that validates the file and keeps a pre-restore snapshot — so even a bad restore is reversible. Nothing is hard-deleted, and there is an audit trail on every discount, void, return, price change, stock adjustment and sign-in.
Hardware that just works
Any barcode scanner — it simply types. 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printers over the Windows driver or direct ESC/POS, on the network or through a shared USB printer, with the cash drawer opening on cash sales. Weighing-scale label barcodes supported.
"Internet band hai" is not a reason to stop billing.
Most point-of-sale software calls a server for every bill and freezes when it cannot reach one. This one writes locally first and treats the cloud as somewhere the data goes afterwards.
- Billing writes to a local database on the counter machine, in a mode where reporting never blocks a sale.
- Cloud sync is a queue that drains when the connection returns, pushing one way so there is almost nothing to resolve.
- FBR invoices are queued, not posted inline. The queue retries in the background and failed invoices can be retried in bulk from the same screen.
- The licence verifies with no internet at all, so a dead connection on the first morning does not close the shop.
- Point the backup folder at a USB drive or a network share, and the machine protects itself.
A wizard that decides what the rest of the app looks like.
The first launch asks the questions that matter, and the answers shape every screen afterwards — a pharmacy does not get a general-retail billing screen with the batch fields bolted on.
- Business type — General Retail, or Pharmacy and Medical Store.
- Shop details and country, so the tax behaviour and the receipt match where you actually are.
- Tax configuration — inclusive or exclusive pricing, and the FBR settings if you need them.
- Local-only or cloud-sync storage, chosen deliberately rather than assumed.
- Administrator account and licence, and then you are on the counter with real data.
Everything on the machine.

The technical detail
| Platform | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit |
| Architecture | Electron with a Next.js interface over a local SQLite database in WAL mode |
| Business types | General Retail, or Pharmacy and Medical Store — chosen in the setup wizard |
| Offline | Complete. Billing never requires a connection; cloud sync drains a queue when one returns |
| Hardware | Any barcode scanner, 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer, cash drawer wired to the printer, weighing scale |
| Printing | Windows driver, ESC/POS over the network (port 9100), or ESC/POS to a shared USB printer |
| Tax | Pakistan sales tax, inclusive or exclusive, 3% further tax without an STRN, FBR POS transmission with a retry queue |
| Licensing | Cryptographically signed and locked to the machine; verified entirely offline |
| Branches | From one branch to enterprise, depending on the plan |
| Verification | 61 end-to-end checks and a load of all 17 screens run against a throwaway database on every build |
The interface can never touch the database directly — it goes through a permission-checked channel, so a tampered screen cannot grant itself rights. All stock changes go through one path, which is why the stock figure and the movement history can never disagree.
Mizenzo POS — common questions
Yes. Every bill is written to a local database on the counter machine before anything else happens, so billing, printing and the cash drawer all work exactly the same with the connection down. When it returns, queued records sync in the background.
Yes, and it is the reason for the pharmacy mode. Stock is tracked by batch with an expiry date, sales allocate the first-expiring batch automatically, near-expiry and expired stock are controlled separately, and prescription-required items warn at the counter.
Yes. Enter your POS ID, token and endpoint, and invoices are transmitted with the posted number and QR code printed on the receipt. They are queued rather than sent inline, so a slow FBR endpoint never holds up a customer, and failed invoices can be retried in bulk.
A Windows 10 or 11 machine, any barcode scanner — it behaves as a keyboard and needs no setup — and a 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer. If you want the cash drawer to open on cash sales, connect it to the printer and use one of the ESC/POS printing modes; a Windows print driver cannot pulse a drawer.
Yes, with branch transfers between them. How many branches and users are allowed depends on the plan, from a single-counter shop up to an enterprise installation.
